Jenks Public Schools Freshman Academy, Phase II
The Freshman Academy project is a new addition and renovation project consisting of three phases.
The Freshman Academy project is a new addition and renovation project consisting of three phases. The Jenks Freshman Academy building was originally constructed in the 1960s as an elementary school on the original downtown Jenks Main Campus. In 1999 the building was converted to the Freshman Academy. Over time, as the district has grown, the building is no longer adequate to accommodate the number of students and the type of classroom spaces needed for today's educational experiences. To replace the building on the Main Campus, the design and plan for construction is being completed in three phases. The first two phases are classroom additions to the original building and the third phase will demolish and replace the original building. Completed in August 2020, Phase I is a 20,000 square foot two-story addition that includes science labs, a commons area, and administrative offices. Recently completed Phase II adds more classrooms, an IT workroom and information technology offices for the district. The project aims to provide students with modern and updated learning facilities and technology. Completion of all three phases will be approximately 50,000 square feet of new construction.
