Jenks Public Schools | Middle School Athletic Fields
LDKerns was contracted for the Construction Management by Jenks Public Schools (JPS) for the new construction of the Middle School Athletic Fields project. For more than 100 years JPS has provided students with a quality education in an environment known nationwide for high academic standards, remarkable leadership and notable athletics. The contract value was $3,105,418.00 with a five-month schedule.
Working closely with GH2 Architects on the design, the scope of work for this new athletic facility included an 87,200sf synthetic, Multi Sport grass field, eight-lane polyurethane sandwich track system with striping, with track and field event runways and pads. The location of this sports facility was critical to their overall campus masterplan and the foresight for future growth. Convenient parking, sidewalks, accessible entry and ample lighting play a big part in the flow of traffic and for evening events.
Serving more than 12,000 students in the district, the middle school houses approximately 2,000 students. The new Middle School Athletic facility was designed featuring a Multi-Sport, synthetic turf field, a multi event track venue, and new concessions building. This new facility will accommodate Football, Track, Women’s Lacrosse, and Soccer. The new concessions building houses ticket sales, restroom facilities, and walk up concessions area. The state-of-the-art scoreboard, press box, and lighting systems are sure to provide the best experience for both athlete and spectator, day or night, for years to come. Through cost analysis, evaluation and assessment, LDKerns was able to maximize each dollar spent and ultimately deliver JPS a facility that was on time, under budget, and included systems and appurtenances that exceeded pre-construction expectations.

Overall Project Success:
- Extensive risk planning and preparation mitigated the risks and challenges of the project.
- Construction was completed on time and was under Budget.
- The cohesive teamwork between the owner, architect and LDKerns was extremely instrumental to the success of this project and our professional partnership.
